Our Team:

The Enterprise Communication team at Stanley Black & Decker serves as a global center of excellence for internal and executive communications, branding and reputation, and employee engagement. The team partners with business units and functions to support strategic objectives and ensure strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, customers, investors, members of the media and community partners.

The Job:

As a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, you’ll be part of our Enterprise Communications team, working as a hybrid employee in our Towson office 3 days per week.

Reporting to the corporate communications team, the Corporate Communications Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in developing high-impact global communication strategies and driving execution that enables the achievement of key business objectives. This person will work closely with business leadership, HR, and enterprise communication teams on a range of projects and functional areas with a focus on executive communication development for C-suite leadership. This includes developing interactive presentations and compelling written narratives for internal and external audiences, effectively leading integrated communication strategy planning for major business projects and supporting a cadence of internal communication rhythms including frequent engagement activity, quarterly town halls, annual business meetings, and other ad hoc events. You’ll also get to:

Play a key role in accelerating business transformation efforts, particularly in advancing our talent & culture strategy.

Employ effective and progressive change management techniques to support employee engagement.

Develop and implement strategic communication plans, utilizing various channels/vehicles for messaging deployment and crafting clear, consistent, and compelling narratives in support of business initiatives.

Write talking points and create compelling content for key initiatives with creative ideas for design and delivery, which may include internal announcements, social posts, videos, graphic assets, podcasts, webinars, etc.

Serve as a communication partner for the executive business leadership team, while collaborating with matrixed business teams, to drive alignment and engagement among employees around business commitments and long-term strategic objectives.

The Person:

Master’s and/or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field

8-10+ years of professional experience with evidence of increasing responsibility in Communications, Marketing, or related field, with demonstrated experience leveraging communication tools to support key strategic initiatives (experience in manufacturing or consumer goods industry preferred)

Manufacturing experience highly preferred

Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences

Strong PowerPoint capabilities with demonstrated experience in developing visually effective presentations

Strong project management capabilities, including demonstrated leadership for multiple assignments from conception to completion on deadline and within budget

Understanding of and experience with change management within a corporate environment

Travel: approximately 10-20%
