Collaborating closely with a diverse cross-functional team, you'll wield your influence to shape decisions and deliver top-notch Merchant Platform experiences for small businesses worldwide. At PayPal, Experience Designers play a pivotal role in steering teams towards customer-centric solutions throughout the product development journey. This entails leveraging data and research to drive design concepts and decision-making processes. Our designers are adept storytellers, attentive listeners, tech enthusiasts, and masters of their craft.

What You Need To Know About The Role:In this role, you'll advocate for customer needs, contribute to project execution in complex or strategic product domains, and build a strong network across different domains and cross-functional teams. You'll focus on onboarding merchants, driving activation of products and services, and making recommendations—all while aligning with merchant intent to deliver tangible value to small businesses worldwide.

Your Day-to-Day:

Proactively identify customer problems and contribute to defining their needs.Interpret insights to shape product strategies.Act as a bridge between design, product management, and engineering.Present design rationale and negotiate for user needs in cross-functional meetings.Demonstrate mastery over design tools and techniques.Handle complex projects independently from conception to completion.Instigate strategic change and affect the larger organization.Articulate the ROI of design decisions to stakeholders at various levels.

What You Need to Bring:

Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years or Master's degree with 1-2 years of experience in user experience, design, research, or related fields.Experience in designing products and platforms, including native apps, with a focus on both consumer and enterprise experiences, including systems design.Knowledge or expertise in financial services or adjacent field is advantageous.Proficiency with standard design and prototyping tools like Figma, Miro, Asana, and similar platforms.Demonstrated curiosity and a passion for provoking what's possible, delighting our customers, and driving impact.
