USA TODAY NETWORK , is looking for a dynamic photographer/videographer to capture Ventura County.The top candidate will have a nose for news, passion for storytelling, and drive for getting the best shots. This photographer/videographer will be responsible for producing photos and videos for print, digital, and social media.Must be a self-starter with the skill, sense of urgency, and creativity to identify and pursue compelling visual stories. The ability to write clear, accurate captions is also a must. Coverage includes breaking news, sports, features, profiles, enterprise, and investigations. Must be a team player and collaborator and have a flair for making a connection with local audiences. An ability to speak Spanish is a plus.We are located on the Southern California coast, within easy driving distance to Los Angeles, Malibu, Santa Barbara, and the Central Coast. It's the perfect location for someone who loves the outdoors.Responsibilities:Create quality multimedia storytelling using photography, videography, and text that informs, entertains, and engages our audience.File photos, produce galleries, and turn out video in a timely fashion.Assist newsroom colleagues with basic photo and video editing.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or equivalent in experience and education.At least two years of experience with professional photography and videography on multiple platforms.Proficiency in photo and video editing software, such as Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and related programs.Experience shooting and editing with a smartphone.Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressure.Flexibility and availability to work nights and weekends.Knowledge and willingness to support key social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok).Command of journalism law and principles of ethical conduct.A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance as required by state law.Application Instructions:We are eager to learn more about you and how you fit this role.
