The Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts is a world-class, multi-venue performing arts center on the campus of the University of Denver, Home to the Lamont School of Music, The Newman Center hosts nearly 500 events annually. In addition to performances by Lamont students and faculty, the Newman Center is an in-demand performance venue for numerous rental clients including the Denver Post Pen and Podium Series, Friends of Chamber Music, Denver Brass, Wonderbound Dance, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Urban League of Denver, The CELL and many others. The Newman Center also presents nationally touring performing arts groups through its acclaimed series, Newman Center Presents.
Position Summary
The Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver is currently seeking a part-time Grant Writer to write and prepare grant submissions on behalf of the Newman Center for the Performing Arts.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions Researching potential funding opportunities that align with the needs of the Newman Center Managing and organizing the submission of grant applications while adhering to strict deadlines Monitoring the status of grant proposals/applications Preparing/submitting grant reports Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills Understanding the entire lifecycle of grant writing, from researching funding sources to submitting proposals and managing grants. Basic knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting, as grant proposals often require detailed financial information. Skills in managing multiple grant applications and deadlines simultaneously, including organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to adjust writing style and approach based on different funders and their specific requirements. Ability to work effectively with other team members, including program staff, finance personnel, and external partners, to gather information and create a cohesive proposal. Required Qualifications Graduation from a four-year university or college, or equivalent experience. 2-3 years of grant writing experience Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the performing arts Strong working knowledge of performing arts grants/funding in Denver Working Environment Remote Physical Activities Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time. Work Schedule
Part-Time, 5-30 hours per month to be arranged with supervisor.

Hourly Rate
The hourly rate for this position is $75.00.
