The Opportunity

This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.

As the Marketing Manager, Customer Engagement you will lead the development and execution of support programs and offerings to engage people with diabetes and help them make progress. This role is responsible for driving insights-driven strategies to improve the lives of people with diabetes, managing a team of brand managers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners, including privacy, legal, IT, and Market Access teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, a deep understanding of customer needs, and a passion for improving health outcomes through innovative solutions.

What You’ll Work On

Program Leadership & Strategy Development:

Lead the design, development, and evolution of a comprehensive diabetes support program leveraging CGM technology.

Develop and implement marketing strategies that are insights-driven, customer-centric, and aligned with business goals.

Define program KPIs and monitor performance to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

Lead and represent the program and its evolution in senior leadership engagements

Customer-Centric Approach:

Utilize customer insights, market research, and data analytics to deeply understand the needs and behaviors of people with diabetes.

Ensure the program delivers value by addressing customer pain points and improving the overall experience with CGM technology.

Ensure program supports multiple touch points and behavior patterns of the PwD’s

Foster a culture of empathy and customer advocacy within the marketing team.

Team Management & Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of brand managers, providing guidance, support, and direction to achieve program goals.

Ensure alignment of team efforts with overall marketing strategy and company objectives.

Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with other marketing teams to ensure consistency and alignment across all marketing initiatives and channels.

Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including R&D, Global, privacy, legal, IT, and Market Access teams, to ensure compliance and integration of the support program.

Lead cross-functional meetings and initiatives to drive program success.

Insight-Driven Decision Making:

Leverage data and insights to inform marketing strategies, optimize campaigns, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technology needs, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to keep the program relevant and effective.

Regularly report on program performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all marketing activities comply with relevant regulations, privacy laws, and internal policies.

Partner with legal and privacy teams to manage risks associated with customer data and program communications.

Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree required

Six years marketing experience with a minimum of four years in a commercial role including, product marketing

An understanding of the U.S. healthcare and regulatory environment

Preferred Qualifications

MBA preferred

Strength in team development and leadership with the ability to inspire and encourage the growth and development of people and people leaders is critical. This role is for professionals with significant people management experience

Prior commercial or digital leadership experience in health care professional marketing, brand marketing, and/or life-cycle management in pharmaceutical, biotech or related industry.

Ability to see, distill and effectively communicate/educate internal and external stakeholders on the complex environment, customer journeys and digital engagement models.

Well-developed analytical and strategic skills with strong planning, project management, communication and organization skills.

Proven ability to successfully manage complexity and simplify, solve business problems, and build strong relationships in a highly matrixed, collaborative work environment.

Manage ambiguity and pressure testing data for further nuanced information.

Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.

An understanding of the U.S. healthcare and regulatory environment.

Experience in the diabetes care industry.

Proven ability to work and communicate across a highly matrix organization and ability to lead projects and getting alignment.

Familiarity with digital marketing tools and CRM platforms.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in English

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Possess strong analytical skills, business, and financial acumen, and capable of effective use of market research, forecasts and business analytics.

Demonstrate strong customer orientation/focus.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to connect analytics with the overarching business questions and can understand the link between access strategy and analytic insights.

The base pay for this position is $144,100.00 – $288,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
