We handle every aspect of fall protection systems, including design, engineering, fabrication, installation, training, and inspection. We are located in North Charleston, SC but serve customers nationwide. We have an exciting opportunity as a Drafter for the ideal candidate.We are looking for a Drafter to work with our team to create and convert designs into technical plans and participate in the estimating process. This is an In-Office, In-Person position.Drafter responsibilities include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements, and communicating production methods with our team of fabricators. If you have hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software (preferably AutoCAD & Inventor) and are familiar with fabrication processes, we’d like to meet you.ResponsibilitiesLiaise with customers and engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs.Calculate dimensions, weight limitations, and requirements in materials.Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software, AutoCAD & Inventor.Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team.Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality.Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.Create manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features, and maintenanceResearch the cost of materials, transport, labor, and equipment.Read and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other bid documents to prepare formal, comprehensive time, cost, material, and labor estimates.Requirements and skillsProven work experience as a Drafter or similar roleHands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) softwareFamiliarity with 3D modeling toolsGood math skillsAbility to meet deadlinesBS in Engineering, Architecture, or a degree from a technical collegeExperience in an estimating role
