We're seeking an exceptional, innovative, and AI-native Senior UX Researcher to lead and elevate our strategic research efforts across our portfolio. In this high-impact role, you'll drive end-to-end user research for Product.ai and spearhead research initiatives for AI-powered features in SimplyCodes. You'll be at the forefront of understanding user behaviors and needs in AI-driven shopping experiences, informing the creation of novel, conversational and visual interfaces that redefine how people shop online.

At Demand.io, UX Research plays a pivotal role in shaping our products and strategy. As a senior researcher, you will significantly influence product vision and strategy, working autonomously to design and execute research that uncovers deep user insights. Your work will directly impact millions of users, shape the future of AI-assisted shopping, and guide our overall research strategy.

In this role, you'll report directly to the CEO (who acts as Chief Product Officer), playing a key role in a range of strategic research initiatives spanning our product portfolio. You'll be challenged to investigate complex user behaviors, explore emerging AI technologies' impact on shopping, and provide insights that inform the design of intuitive interfaces for intricate systems involving gamification, in-app economies, and community-driven features. You'll also be expected to mentor junior researchers and champion user-centered design across the organization.

What you'll do

Lead and evolve our overall UX research strategy across all Demand.io productsDrive end-to-end user research for Product.ai, our ambitious AI shopping assistant platformSpearhead research efforts for AI-powered features in SimplyCodes, informing enhancements to our coupon and deals discovery experienceDesign and conduct sophisticated studies to understand user behaviors and needs in AI-driven, conversational shopping experiencesDevelop innovative research strategies to inform the design of complex systems involving gamification, in-app economies, and community-driven featuresCollaborate closely with our AI and machine learning teams to understand and translate technical capabilities into user-centric product featuresUtilize advanced research methodologies, including Jobs to be Done (JTBD), to uncover deep user motivations and inform product strategy for our AI-driven shopping experiencesDrive data-informed product decisions, working with our analytics team to design and interpret both qualitative and quantitative studiesDevelop and maintain a repository of user insights that can flex to accommodate rapidly evolving AI capabilities and user behaviorsMentor junior researchers and evangelize user-centered design thinking across the organizationContribute significantly to product strategy and roadmapping, using your research insights to shape our product directionRepresent Demand.io's UX research practice externally through conference talks, publications, or industry engagements

About you

You're a visionary, end-to-end UX Researcher with a proven track record of impacting innovative 0-1 products through your insightsYou have 6-10 years of experience in UX research, with a focus on complex, data-driven consumer productsYou possess deep expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with the ability to design sophisticated studies that uncover nuanced user insightsYou have experience applying various research frameworks, including Jobs to be Done (JTBD) methodology and its application in product development and innovationYou have significant experience researching AI-powered products or features, with a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities they presentYou're well-versed in conducting research across multiple platforms (web, mobile, browser extensions) and understand the nuances of eachYou have a strong technical background, ideally with an advanced degree in HCI, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related fieldYou're highly data-driven, with extensive experience designing and interpreting both qualitative studies and quantitative experiments to inform product decisionsYou're an excellent communicator and leader, able to articulate research findings, influence product strategy, and collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholdersYou're comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environmentYou have a growth mindset and are constantly looking to learn, innovate in your field, and improve your craft

Ideal candidates will also have

Experience leading research teams or mentoring junior researchersExpertise in researching conversational UI and chatbot interfacesFamiliarity with user research for augmented reality (AR) or other emerging technologiesA background in game design research or experience with studying gamification in non-game productsExtensive experience with community-driven products and researching user-generated content behaviorsDeep knowledge of behavioral economics and how to apply it to user research and product designPublications or speaking engagements in the field of UX research, particularly related to AI or e-commerce

About the job
