Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer specializing in the design and detail engineering of pressure vessels and storage tanks, including internals. This role involves producing design calculations, analysis reports, and detailed assembly drawings based on these calculations. The ideal candidate will coordinate with various departments and external agencies, supervise designers and draftspersons, and ensure adherence to safety regulations. Additionally, the role requires reviewing contractors’ mechanical designs, fabrication drawings, and RFIs, ensuring compliance with design codes, client datasheets, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:Conduct detailed design and analysis of pressure vessels and storage tanks, including producing comprehensive design calculations and reports.Develop detailed assembly and fabrication drawings based on design calculations.Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, other departments, and external agencies to ensure project alignment and success.Supervise and review the work of designers and draftspersons to maintain high-quality output.Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations, attend safety training, and participate in safety programs.Review contractors' mechanical design calculations, fabrication drawings, and RFIs, ensuring adherence to applicable design codes, client datasheets, and project specifications.Conduct technical reviews of vendor quotations to ensure compliance with project requirements.Report directly to the Design Engineering Manager and work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required; a Master’s Degree and/or PE license is preferred.A minimum of 5 years of experience in Pressure Vessel Design Engineering.Proficient in applying and interpreting Pressure Vessel Design Codes, such as ASME Sec.VIII and related ASME/ANSI Codes, as well as other international codes.Knowledge of welding procedures and testing requirements.Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is an advantage.

Key Skills:Expertise in Pressure Vessel Design software such as PVElite and/or Compress.Proficient in designing and drafting pressure vessels using AutoCAD or BricsCAD.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic concepts of 3D solids design.Availability for occasional travel to vendor shops or project sites for inspections as required.Experience in rigging and lifting analysis for vessels, distillation columns, and tanks.
