As an Architectural Designer at SBCC, you will will be responsible for translating client objectives into effective and suitable building designs. This role involves collaborating with clients to gather design requirements, providing recommendations on architectural design, and producing detailed building plans using CAD tools and manual drafting techniques. The Architectural Designer must ensure that designs meet the client's expectations while adhering to budget constraints, industry trends, and site-specific factors. This full-time position offers competitive compensation* and the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDesign Consultation and Requirement Gathering: Interact with clients to collect detailed information on design requirements for building projects, including specifications, site location, and budget considerations. Provide expert recommendations on suitable architectural designs that align with the client’s objectives, industry trends, and budgetary constraints.Architectural Design and Drafting: Produce detailed architectural designs and building plans using CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Revit, as well as manual drafting instruments. Create designs that meet the desired requirements and expectations of the client, ensuring adherence to the project’s budget and timeline. Modify existing designs based on feedback from clients or management to better align with evolving project goals.Project Documentation and Record Keeping: Document and maintain records of all architectural designs and other relevant project information for easy access by the Project Manager and team members. Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and filed appropriately for future reference.Cost Estimation and Specification Development: Specify key details for each project, including cost estimates, materials to be used, and the assumed duration of construction. Work closely with project teams to ensure that all technical specifications and designs are feasible and align with project goals.Technical Proficiency and Continuous Learning: Maintain proficiency in the latest 3D design and modeling technologies, ensuring that design processes are efficient and up to industry standards.
