Job Summary:

The 3D Coordinator/Designer is responsible for managing 3D printing and scanning operations, ensuring the precision and quality of digital models and printed objects. This role involves researching new equipment, materials, and suppliers to keep our processes at the forefront of innovation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in 3D design and product development, with excellent project management skills and a forward-thinking approach to integrating new technologies into our workflow.

What You Will Do:3D Printer Operation:

Set up and operate 3D printers, adjust printing parameters, and troubleshoot issues during the process.Post-Processing:

Manage post-printing tasks, such as support removal, sanding, painting, and assembly of printed parts.Material Selection:

Select materials based on the desired properties like durability, flexibility, and finish.Design and Modeling:

Use CAD software to create detailed 3D models of mannequins, props, displays, and fixtures.Prototyping:

Develop prototypes to test design functionality and aesthetics before final production.Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers, product designers, and clients to meet design specifications and project requirements.Innovation:

Stay updated with the latest in 3D printing technology and apply innovative techniques to the design process.Quality Control:

Ensure that final products meet quality standards through rigorous testing and inspection.Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of design iterations, printing parameters, and material usage.

What It Takes to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, 3D Design, or equivalent experience.2+ years of experience with 3D printing equipment.Expertise in slicer software and printer maintenance.Strong knowledge of scanning equipment and 3D printer materials.Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., 3D Studio Max, ZBrush, Maya, Rhino).High mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work in a production environment and adapt to varying project timelines.Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate handheld scanning equipment for extended periods.
