Summary :The Designer will coordinate and execute engineering design projects, ensuring compliance with all standards and best practices. Projects include developing new products, revising existing ones, creating tools and in-house production equipment, and providing literature support.

Responsibilities :- Ensure product designs meet form, fit, and function requirements, and are economically manufacturable.- Prepare and maintain drawings, develop designs and layouts, particularly for new product lines.- Expert use of CAE software for creating and analyzing 3D models and drawings.- Check designs against industry and company standards.- Apply design for manufacturability principles, focusing on various manufacturing processes such as casting, molding, extrusion, joining, and coating.- Research and reference applicable industrial standards.- Apply manufacturing processes in designs.- Develop multiple mechanical solutions with minimal direction.- Work independently with a high degree of creativity and latitude; mentor new hires and associates.- Support product lifecycle tasks such as part verification, technical drawing inquiries, and rapid prototyping.- Manage design content using the engineering product document management system.- Support department operations, including drawing management and CAE Library maintenance.- Participate in Best Practice activities and author departmental best practices.- Coordinate projects requiring collective participation.

Qualifications:- Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.- 5+ years of design experience.- Extensive knowledge of engineering design principles.- Proficient CAD skills for 2D and 3D modeling. SolidWorks Preferred. CSWP or CSWA is desirable.- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.- Understanding of change control systems.
