The Senior Vice President, for Marketing's Enterprise Brand Strategy & Activation will ensure Nationwide's brand and reputation are effectively managed on behalf of the enterprise and its businesses through strategic planning and effective in-market execution across multiple channels. You will lead teams responsible for brand strategy, creative development, channel execution and in-market performance of all branded content. You'll serve the needs of the enterprise and all businesses, including national advertising, paid media, enterprise digital assets, sports / sponsorship activations, diverse & cause marketing, public relations and enterprise-wide internal communications. Your team will support all groups within marketing, as well as other areas throughout Nationwide including HR, Technology, etc. As a member of Marketing Cabinet, you are responsible for contributing to our marketing strategic direction and ongoing executive decision making and management.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Leads development of Nationwide's brand strategy and ensures its effective expression throughout a broad range of creative executions and channels including creative development, advertising, digital tactics, paid / owned media, public relations, sponsorship activations, diverse and internal associate communications.Leads collaboration with other Marketing Cabinet members and business leaders to ensure brand strategy, creative execution and channel performance deliver on desired enterprise and business unit goals.Partners with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Marketing Cabinet in the development and execution of the overall marketing strategy.Determines how to bring the brand to life across all distribution channels enabling competitive prices, driving intermediary recommendations, and fueling brand choice.Creates highly collaborative partnerships across all Marketing functions.Identifies, develops, leads and manages talent. Builds a world class organization, including: talent management and coaching, building technical Marketing expertise.Leadership and management of team of associates including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organization planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions for direct and possibly indirect reports.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to EVP, Chief Marketing Officer. Leads a team of approximately 7 direct reports at the VP, AVP, and Sr Consultant level and an indirect team of over 200 associates.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education:

Bachelors Degree strongly preferred, MBA preferred.

License/Certification/Designation:

Requires Series 6, Series 26 license to be obtained within 120 days of hire.

Experience:

Typically, 10 - 15 years or more experience in Marketing, operations, and experience in agency management required.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven experience working in a team or agency environment to create and direct strategies that drive development of integrated campaign effectiveness with a focus on analytics and value of data. Demonstrated strong strategic thinker with proven experience creating strategies that are executable. Possesses exceptional leadership, client management and organizational skills. Ability to inspire the people reporting to them and clients collaborating with them to create a culture of growth and innovation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be a consensus builder.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.

Working Conditions : Normal office environment; reporting teams are across different locations and geographies. Requires effective collaboration in hybrid on-site / remote working environments. Some travel may be required.
