Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Senior Manager, Communications and Director of Communications to create and implement effective PR, media and profile-raising plans for the Chicago office, its partners and related practices.

Manage day-to-day media relations and PR for the Chicago office.

Serve as point of contact for inbound PR and media inquiries relating to the Chicago office.

Routinely meet and interact with Chicago-based press to establish and maintain key relationships.

Coach lawyers, office leadership and senior professionals on media relations, including prepping for media interviews.

Draft press releases, media pitches and advisories, as well as talking points, Q&As, and other related materials to support public announcements pertaining to the Chicago office.

Conceptualize, draft and edit content related to the Chicago office for a variety of other purposes to support Marketing and Business Development, including website news announcements, overviews of office-led initiatives, and more.

Oversee awards nominations for the Chicago office, including managing the editorial calendar, identifying recognition opportunities, working with partners to gather relevant information, drafting compelling nominations and assisting with publicity of results.

Collaborate with the wider Communications & Branding Team on Social Media strategy and related campaigns.

Compile and circulate press coverage of the Chicago office and monitor media for relevant trends and topics of interest for potential media commentary opportunities.

Stay current with industry trends in the legal and communications/media sectors, especially as it relates to the Chicago market.

Oversee publishing opportunities for attorney-authored articles, including bylined article contributions, for the Chicago-based attorneys.

Handle research projects relating to media coverage, key reporters, peer law firms and trending topics, and present related ideas and suggestions derived from this research.

Regular collaboration with the Business Development team and other internal stakeholders on various projects and initiatives.

Regular collaboration with internal groups such as Pro Bono, Recruiting, Diversity & Inclusion and others on various projects and initiatives.

Other assignments as needed.
