FGS Global serves its client base from 27 cities worldwide, including U.S. Offices in New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, South Florida, and Houston.FGS Global (FGS), a leading strategic communications and government relations firm, is seeking a sharp and energetic junior communications professional to join the firm’s Strategic Communications Food and Agriculture practice. This is a great position for a proactive self-starter interested in communications and issues management, supporting a growing team working at the forefront of food, agriculture, climate, nutrition and more. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office and follows a hybrid schedule with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office.RESPONSIBILITIESBasic writing and research tasks (including emails, meeting agendas, messaging documents, press materials, client documents, owned media content, etc.)Pitch wide variety of media contactsBuild and maintain press listsPrepare briefing documents, talking points, etc.Assist client teams in prep for meetings/pitchesMonitor and/or compile daily press clips for multiple clientsProactively identifying and addressing any immediate concerns or obstacles to ensure workflow moves smoothlyManaging sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretionResponding to requests outside of regular business hours as neededAdministrative support, including:Managing all aspects of schedulePreparing and submitting expense reportsCoordinating and booking travelFiltering internal and external requestsATTRIBUTESBachelor's degree in a related field, plus relevant internship experienceInterest in food and agriculturePrevious experience in communications field, particularly media engagementExcellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsCreative thinker excited to join a collaborative group of smart, passionate and highly motivated peopleStrong writing and research skillsFamiliarity with social media platformsSolid knowledge of MS Office SuiteStrong time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at once with little directionStrong propensity to think multiple steps ahead and anticipate needs, challenges, and questions.Ability to act proactively and take initiative to address client and team needs.Ability to exercise intense discretion and confidentiality in a professional mannerAbility to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines and apply appropriate judgment; enjoys a challengeIn Washington, D.C., the base salary for this position at the time of this posting is 60,000 USD.#MIDistrict of Columbia Salary Range$60,000—$60,000 USDWe offer medical, dental and vision plans, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability and AD&D plans, 401(k) with company matching contribution, technology reimbursement, discretionary bonuses, and paid time off to eligible full-time employees.FGS Global provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, or genetics.
