Communication and Dissemination Lead

to support a Tribal Implementation Center under the Public Health Data Modernization Program. The center will provide technical assistance and aid Tribes and Tribal organizations in data modernization efforts while ensuring culturally-appropriate approaches that respect indigenous values and Tribal data sovereignty.The Communication and Dissemination Lead will support documentation and communication with Tribes and Tribal organizations, use cases, and dissemination. This role will oversee communications deliverables and staff, lead product development, provide strategic counsel, work with key stakeholders/grantees/partners, and provide strategic direction for various technical activities.This is a fully remote position that can be based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in the U.S. Some travel (15% of time) will be required to various locations in the U.S. to attend meetings, conferences, etc. This position is contingent upon contract award.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic technical direction and oversight to tailored webinars and confidence-building activities among funded partners and grantees of the Tribal Implementation Center under the Public Health Data Modernization Program.Work with Tribes and Tribal organizations while ensuring culturally-appropriate approaches and communications that respect indigenous values and Tribal data sovereignty.Develop technical assistance, training, communication, and partnership plans and associated key performance metrics.Provide strategic technical direction/oversight of resource development for communications/resources (e.g., Field Guide, providing review of materials). This includes planning/research, timeline development and management, and writing and editing content.Provide strategic direction for planning and coordination of funding agency periodic briefings.Lead the development, adaptation, creation, testing, and dissemination/delivery of training content and resources, training toolkits, communication products and tools, community engagement tools, and messages to different audiences utilizing various formats.Work with web team to place items on website and/or program sites, including previewing/providing feedback on layout.Lead calls with grantees/partners/organizations and other stakeholders.Lead ongoing communication with grantees/partners/organizations and other stakeholders.Coordinate efforts among public health agencies/departments, subject matter experts, grantees, partners, stakeholders, and the project ensuring project goals are being met.Conduct learning needs assessments to inform training content and develop tailored training exercises (e.g., training breakout sessions).Lead development and/or re-design of printed, digital and social media, and multi-media materials that educate priority populations in a culturally-appropriate manner.Translate complex health information into evidence-based messages for a variety of audiences applying the principles of plain language.Conduct and apply findings from literature searches and environmental scans.Provide communication strategies and recommendations using communication expertise, including product development and specific strategies for disseminating information, including recommendations on communicating messages through the most appropriate distribution channels.Oversee communication performance measurement/metrics and develop reports when needed.Train and mentor junior staff.Coordinate with funding agency communications and social media teams on resource promotion and dissemination efforts, as needed.Coordinate clearance of all materials following funding agency guidelines and policies, as needed.Provide technical assistance to internal and external partners.Perform other related duties as required.RequirementsRequired Experience and SkillsMinimum 10 years’ work experience in health communication, public health, training, social marketing, or closely related fields required.Experience developing and delivering training and technical assistance in a virtual environment, ideally for public health data modernization initiatives.Prior experience working with public health agencies, grantees, and/or Tribes and Tribal organization strongly desired.Demonstrated cultural competence in providing services to or working with Tribes and Tribal organizations while ensuring culturally-appropriate approaches that respect indigenous values and Tribal data sovereignty.Understanding of adult learning styles and training techniques.Experience monitoring and evaluating communication campaigns and activities to measure overall performance.Proven ability to analyze and interpret public health and related data.Ability to translate and disseminate public health, scientific and technical information across a variety of platforms.Ability to research and evaluate communication research studies, strategies, and projects.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and meet tight deadlines.Excellent organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.Strong critical and creative thinker.Prior experience leading staff.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.Education and TrainingBachelor’s degree in public health, communications, marketing, journalism or other relevant field required; Master's degree preferred.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
