Position SummaryAs SKG's Design Manager, you'll be at the heart of our creative process, leading the Design Department to bring workplace dreams to life. This role is all about managing the day-to-day operations of design, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently. You'll oversee everything from client consultations to project completion, making sure each design is innovative, functional, and tailored to our clients' needs—all while keeping our high standards front and center.

LocationThis role is based in Austin, Texas, and requires daily commuting to the office. Candidates should reside in Austin or the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:·

Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and technology to keep offerings cutting-edge.·

Ensure the Design Department follows SKG/design processes and train new designers.·

Support implementation of software and hardware solutions for the team.·

Lead audits to ensure accurate, timely organization of documents.·

Manage the Design Queue, keeping content relevant and aligned with processes.·

Provide feedback to ensure deliverables are on-brand and tell a cohesive design story.·

Prioritize design workloads based on business needs in coordination with leadership.·

Oversee design project coordination and outsourcing, with SKG leading the process.·

Conduct weekly reviews to ensure deadlines are met.·

Ensure all projects are logged in FOLIO and leverage the system to prevent errors.·

Manage file organization, including outsourced files during audits.·

Review order data for compliance with design processes and final audit prep.·

Ensure accurate project closeout documents, specifications, and installation drawings.·

Handle other duties as assigned.

Qualifications·

Experience managing a team of designers in a dealership setting is a MUST.·

Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or related field.·

Proficient in CET and other design software.·

Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple projects with focus and urgency.·

Proactive problem-solver with a creative and efficient approach.·

Excellent collaborator and communicator, able to work across departments and with diverse teams.·

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities.·
