Overview

The Director of Brand & Communication Strategy is responsible for growth; for making it simple, and clear why people everywhere around the world should choose BISSELL as their partner in creating a home that welcomes the messes, we create from simply living - the pets we choose to adopt into our families, our children, our hobbies, our... life itself. The stories you will be responsible for telling through compelling content delivered throughout the buyer journey will be underpinned by an evolved brand positioning, consumer and competitive insight, a coherent brand voice, and creative ideation. You'll think globally, but act against the unique needs of individual markets, channels, and consumer segments and be ruthless about measuring the impact of the work to ensure we are continuously improving the effectiveness of our brand and content strategies, as well as the production efforts that bring them to life. You can't do this alone, of course, so collaboration and the ability to communicate effectively across all-levels of BISSELL, a team of planners and strategists that report into you, and our network of external partners is critical. Responsibilities

Oversee a team charged with the development and delivery of a brand and product communication strategies that clearly bring to life the BISSELL value propositions across all touchpoints on the buyer journeyLead a team of category and channel planners to support the translation of business growth strategies in to integrated communication programsLead and optimize BISSELL's communication planning approach, to ensure clear linkage to BISSELL growth strategies, consumer and competitive insights, and channel specific needs.Partner with Delivery and Operations teams to ensure fit for purpose strategic plans are linked to resource and implementation supportImplement a continuously evolving brand framework to enhance consumer experience and achieve brand experience consistency across channels, globallyWork collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop and refine brand and content strategies that work to support business growth objectivesPlay a key role in expanding our content framework into other use cases (research, workshops, brand, innovation, product positioning work, packaging, etc.)Work cross functionally across BISSELL to proactively identify and develop content opportunities to further differentiate BISSELL, and achieve product and channel growth objectivesPlay a key role in creative and campaign ideation, ensuring consistent use of the BISSELL brand positioning and voiceBe a student of culture; constantly auditing and keeping up with content, social media and experience design trends and disruptorsIdentify opportunities to amplify content via media, partners, influencers, events, social media, etc.Develop communication plan specific KPIs in order to track the impact of BISSELL's content and integrated communications strategy, work across the organize to socialize those KPIs and drive action to achieve successGather and measure communication plan performance insights and capture evolving customer needs and market learnings in order to optimize plans and drive to continuous improvementQualifications

Degree minimum: Bachelor's DegreeSpecific concentration: Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Business, Social Sciences, or related fieldExperience level: Minimum 15 years of experience in marketing, media, or strategic planning role within a brand or agencySKILLS REQUIRED

Proven experience developing a content or communication measurement framework, and making quantifiable gains against it to show ROI for brand and product marketing initiativesProven experience leading media, planning, or account functions at a large, global agency or brand.Exceptional partner development and service experience.Proven experience developing and managing a marketing budget across Content/Creative, PR, Social, etc.Exceptional storyteller with strong creative sensibilities and a passion for all things creative, brand and designExperienced in working with cross-functional teams to deliver communications plansExperience in navigating a complex organizational hierarchy, and executive communicationsStrategic thinker, detail oriented, proactive problem-solver, strong intrapersonal communication skills, proven management and leadership experience, inspirational thinker, collaborator with proven track record of delivering results within budget, timeline and strategy
