Accountable for the overall direction and leadership of the Sales Team.What you will be doing:Manage the property’s reactive and proactive sales effortsOversee the sales function in the achievement of targeted room sales and cateringPrepare annual rooms and catering revenue budgetDevelop and implement property-wide annual strategic marketing planPrepare annual sales & marketing operational budgetWork closely with DORM to maximize rate during periods of compression and occupancy and RevPAR gain during soft periodsMaintain successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the owner and the brand.Attend sales/revenue strategy meetings to provide input on weekly and overall sales strategy.Suggest innovative marketing ideas and develop deployment strategies to continue to grow market share and overall hotel revenues.Set goals for all sellers and develop sales action plans. Work with sellers to ensure they effectively carry out their objectives.Address performance issues and hold staff accountable for successful results.Identify coaching, training and leadership needs for the Sales Team and devise methods of delivery.Analyze monthly sales achievements.Chair monthly departmental Sales & Catering meetings ensuring ongoing effective communication of financial results, strategic direction, and general hotel information.Participate in hotel guest satisfaction initiatives.Be an active member of the executive team of the hotel.Develop strong partnerships with local organizations to further increase brand/product awareness.Develop and manage internal key stakeholder relationships.Develop strong community and public relations by maintaining property participation in local, regional and national tradeshows and client events.QualificationsMinimum 3 years sales leadership experience in a large full-service hotelDiploma, Hotel and Restaurant Management or Business Degree would be an assetSuperior written and verbal communications skillsDemonstrated skills in leading a team and selling in a luxury environment, with a pattern of exceptional resultsResults oriented, very organized, highly motivated and able to work under pressure
