Job Overview

Mark W Todd Architects is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Commercial Interior Designer to work in our office in The Woodlands, Texas. This role will be responsible for leading all the interior aspects of projects coordinating with the architectural team. Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States and we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

- Ability to communicate effectively in a team and collaborative environment.- Generate creative design solutions within the functional parameters of a project.- Support the integration of the design process with other workflows and project tasks.- Contribute to the selection of materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment- Coordinate directly with clients, project consultants, vendors, contractors and local jurisdictions to develop full and coordinated construction documents and specifications.- Responsibility for the development and coordination of drawings and specifications, and constructability with an understanding of related cost.- Directly produce drawings, specifications, and carry out construction administration tasks.- Review and contribute to proposals and contracts with Project Manager.- Participate in office culture and initiatives.

Qualifications

- A Bachelor's degree (or higher) from a CIDA accredited school is required.- Registered Interior Designer preferred. Actively on path to licensure required.- 3+ years of related experience, including demonstrated success as an interior designer on a range of project types.- Revit proficiency in design and construction documents for all phases of project delivery.- AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and Lumion working knowledge preferred.- Residential interior designer experience preferred.- Knowledge of architectural principles/practices.- Working knowledge of building codes and standards.- Strong architectural and detailing skills.- Experience with the entire project lifecycle and design process through post-occupancy.- Demonstrated ability to produce/coordinate high-quality construction documents.- Ability to produce client presentation material as well as pricing and bidding packages.- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.- Experience managing multiple consecutive projects in various stages.- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.- Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, with an ability to achieve goals.- Self-directed with clear communication and interpersonal skills
