Posting Summary:Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Director of Instructional Design and Innovative Technologies for the School of Social Work. Among the key duties of the position are the following:Provides leadership in the School of Social Work related to pedagogical and technology support and innovative technologies for instruction.Works closely with deans, academic program directors, faculty, and university administrators in the areas of curriculum and instruction across academic programs.Sets goals and monitors the development, implementation, and enhancement of new and existing online, hybrid, and on-the-ground courses across all program formats and teaching modalities.Manages and supervises instructional design team members.Collaborates with faculty to ensure all aspects of course design, development and implementation proceeds in an effective and timely manner.Works with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs on any contractual components for faculty members as required.Works with academic program directors to ensure that course development aligns with the most up-to-date, inclusive, and student-centered practices, and Council on Social Work Education's accreditation standards.Collaborates with academic program directors and faculty to create and implement evaluation of SSW programs and courses.

Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience:Master's degree in information science, communication, media, instructional design, curriculum/instructional development, instructional technology, or a related field.Five (5) years of related experience in higher education.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Extensive knowledge of contemporary and emerging learning theories, instructional theories, practices, and their applications, and implementation of emerging technologies and evaluation practices.Strong planning and project management skills.Ability to develop and present instructional materials; assess technology and software programs for instructional and other purposes.Ability to effectively demonstrate instructional applications of technologies; facilitate workshops; effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.Ability to plan and implement evaluation, and establish cooperative working relationships.Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work with faculty and staff with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.Proficiency with educational technology software and hardware, as well as higher education industry software and hardware.Solid technical understanding of desktop computers and their operating systems as well as server (UNIX and Windows) systems and network-related concepts.Knowledge of emerging technologies.Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. in education, Ed.D., or other terminal degree.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Must be able to lift equipment of 10 lbs.Special Conditions:All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.Immunization Requirements:Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
