Job Summary:

Crooked is looking for a Temporary Climate Social Producer. This role will sit within the Content Production arm of the Crooked Social Team with a focus on climate-related social content. The Climate Content Producer will report into VP of Social and Audience Development and work in tandem with our nonprofit partners in the climate space. This is a six-month project funded by a nonprofit partner with the option to renew. Qualified candidates must be based in Los Angeles, California to be considered.

How You'll Spend Your Time:

Social Content Production

Responsible for producing daily social content for a new climate vertical. You do not have to be an expert in climate policy and issues, but you do need to possess the ability to break down complicated topics into easy-to-digest explainers on social.Develop, pitch, and write content that raises awareness about the climate crisis, and what's being done to solve it, with a focus more on storytelling vs. hard news. An ability to think outside the box and approach topics with a unique and sometimes humorous pov is welcomed.Work closely with the Social Team to strategically crosspost content to other Crooked accounts to increase reach and visibility.Continuously monitor the news for climate-related stories and identify moments to that are significant to theCrooked social audiencesEstablish a workflow with the content team to clipout relevant podcast content into clips for social.Work with partners, internal talent, and influencers to create collaborative content opportunities.Work cross functionally with larger Social and Marketing teams to develop the social promotion strategy for converting Crooked's audience into subscribers.

Project Management

Activate and work collaboratively with design, copy, and climate teams to turn around content from pitch to publishing in a timely fashion.Manage your own production schedule to ensure timely delivery of daily content.Manage post-production needs including providing edit notes/time codes, ensuring all branding elements, etc are provided, and deliver any required sourced material.Conduct basic edits of video content, and/or write and submit creative briefs to content/editing teams and design teams, as needed.Make sure all content abides by legal guidelinesMonitor audience feedback and engagement metrics to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for content improvement.

What You'll Bring To The Table:

5-7 years of experience managing an entertainment, social impact or political social account with demonstrated success in growing audiences with original contentSocial Media expertise – including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTokBasic design experience and an ability to work within pre-designed templatesBasic video editing experience with simple social media video content (e.g. captioned clips, reformatting for vertical), preferably using Adobe Premiere and/or CapCutMust be extremely organized with a passion for process, procedures and structureStrong writing skills and good editorial judgmentA working knowledge of current and relevant trending content and best practicesYou should be easy to adapt and calm under pressure. On any given day, you'll interact with our founders and executive stakeholders, high touch talent and directly with your community under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally, think practically, and be solution-orientedWillingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise

Once we're ready to extend an offer, we look at the individual's years of relevant experience and other compensable factors to determine a competitive offer. And for this role, the starting annual salary is $90,000.
