If you have experience with the complete Federal, State, and Local government acquisition proposal lifecycle and an interest in writing and editing, as needed, critical proposal responses, Deloitte's Government and Public Services (GPS) team is looking for exceptional practitioners. Join our team of professionals in delivering strategic and tactical guidance and in authoring comprehensive sections and volumes for senior leadership in support of government proposal development efforts. Recruiting for this role ends on May 31st, 2024 Work you'll do As a Pursuit Writer/Editor on our team you will: + Have direct accountability for writing/editing aspects of the proposal group operations: + Lead and author critically strategic proposal sections with the ability to provide strategic and tactical advice to senior leadership and client service teams + Perform management of immediate team members, when acting as the section lead or lead writer for a volume/section + Make significant contributions to the development and continuous improvement of proposal management processes, tools, and templates + Ensure documents are clear, concise, and grammatically correct + Edit content for grammar, one-voice, words to avoid, in accordance with RFP requirements and Deloitte Quality Assurance standards + Support development, perform interviews, provide analysis, evaluate, and develop content for Past Performance and Resumes per RFP requirements + Create and develop innovative approaches to Management, Transition, and Quality Control Plans + Provide the appropriate guidance concerning the required methodologies, procedures, tools, and templates to support GPS proposal development efforts - as directed by Corporate Deloitte (brand and RFP/RFI compliant requirements) + Provide the ability to handle multiple, concurrent projects + Adjust to shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, last minute requirements, and frequent evening/weekend hours to accomplish tasks within non-negotiable client deadlines + Develop customized pursuit style guides, acronym lists and glossaries per RFP requirements and firm standards + Act as the central point for the proposal development process (when directed): + Evaluate the solicitation requirements + Manage a timely process by meeting or exceeding all deadlines + Work with the technical teams to develop content that is clear, effective and consistent + Assume, when necessary, the writing Lead role for extremely complex proposals + Demonstrate and contributing techniques and experience as appropriate for each situation + Guide proposal teams with less experience, in developing a strategic approach: + Acting in a strategic role, from pre-RFP to oral presentation stages to enhance the likelihood of a win based on requirements and client knowledge + Brainstorming solutions with the proposal teams to provide experience-based advice with the ability to drive strategy and solutions that result in winning submissions + Coordinate with the account team and other teammates to tackle assignments in the most effective and efficient way possible; communicate with teammates in real time to ensure a consistent, streamlined document + Leading and collaborating with the proposal development team: + Manage team members (of various specialties and at various levels of seniority) to develop responses that meet or exceed the needs of potential client + Demonstrate the capacity to bring creativity and original thinking to the framing and structuring of a compliant and compelling proposal content, by incorporating the answers to client's true objectives of their RFP/RFI + Debrief teams after proposal submission: + Interview team members on successful or unsuccessful strategies and tactics to be shared with the writing, editing teams, and the account teams as requested + Share results to enhance the benefits of successful wins and losses (as lessons learned) to refine and enhance future proposal strategies, training, and content + Contribute to the development of Deloitte's proposal team in: + Collaborate with all levels and individuals of each proposal team + Support positive teambuilding + Take and conduct training as appropriate + Continue the refinement and improvement of proposal sections and responses Qualifications Required + Minimum of two (2) years' experience in proposal writing in response to Federal and/or State Request for Proposals (RFP) and analyzing / understanding RFP requirements + Possess approximately 6 years of related experience + Diversity of experience in large corporate organizations and small business concerns + Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with proven experience with preferred concentration in Business, English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications + Excellent communicator - both written and oral + Experience leading teams in discussions or brainstorming approaches for proposal sections/approaches + Experience in public speaking and presentations + Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel + Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and sectors you serve + Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Preferred: + Training in formal capture/proposal methodologies + Knowledge and experience in industry-wide best practices in proposal management + Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local government procurement regulations and practices (including FAR and DFAR) + Demonstrating the ability to manage time, writing, editing, and people with collaborative skill levels + Understanding of standard, and Deloitte standards for editing and proposal writing People and Project Management: + A team player with an outstanding ability to work with people at all levels, including senior executives + Demonstrated ability to influence others, from staff to senior leaders through a resilient presence, thoughtful challenges, and use of sound judgment + Clear interpersonal and politically correct work environment skills, including aptitude for building relationships, understanding team dynamics, taking initiative, and solving problems + Keen listener, with the ability to quickly grasp ideas that can be translated into written words that will impact the client's desire to award the program to Deloitte + Ability to provide presentations to accounts, team mates, proposal teams and Deloitte groups as needed + Ability to read situations and adapt management style to achieve results + Ability to work with grace and efficiency in a demanding, deadline-driven environment + Team-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple projects at once + Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving ability, to meet all deadlines, without issues + Attention to detail and exceptional follow-up skills + Ability to analyze information and make sound observations and recommendations quickly The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
