The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about quality to join the TV Release Quality team. The TV Release Quality team is dedicated to testing, measuring, understanding, and communicating the overall quality of our TV streaming application both before and after it is released to production. The team will focus on improving and innovating in the spaces of our test automation framework, metrics, observability, and alerting. This team will also set a strategic vision for test automation and quality in the TV space, collaborating with stakeholders and partners across Netflix.

You love to empower other engineers and strive to understand their use cases.Experience defining release/regression/smoke testing strategies for large applications developed across multiple teamsExperience developing internal tools to improve developer experience and productivityYou have deep expertise in troubleshooting highly complex web automated testing failures (using both industry-standard frameworks and in-house developed tooling) and working directly with developers to triage issues quickly.You have experience working with backend partners to troubleshoot dependency failures and collaborate on improving E2E testing reliability.You are proficient in TypeScript/Javascript.You are an expert at working with large data sets to answer questions, extract patterns, and make decisionsYou can run with ambiguous requirements and have a strong bias to action.You value the perspectives of others when identifying solutions.You know there is rarely one "right" solution, and you make thoughtful trade-offs.You proactively give and receive feedback, even when it's hard.You contribute to building an inclusive team culture that enables team members of all backgrounds to succeed and thrive.You have a tester mindset, are curious, and come up with interesting test scenariosYou are creative in applying proven tools/test frameworks as well as crafting new solutions to challenging problemsYou have excellent debugging skills in diagnosing issues in a multi-tier web architectureYou work closely with cross-functional partners to communicate impact and understand business requirementsYou are self-motivated and high-performing, with a passion for both the business and the tech

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is 100,000 - $720,000.
