With the support and direction of the Assistant Director of Operations, Content Management & Competitive Intelligence, this is individual will create and execute detailed project plans in collaboration with business development colleagues for the ongoing maintenance, updating, and creation of pitch and proposal content. This individual will ensure that content is regularly updated across product groups, industry groups, RFP question responses, general firm boilerplate, firm initiatives, and other content. This role will primarily focus on development and maintenance of content for pitches and proposals, but may also assist with individual pitch and proposal drafts as required.Responsibilities:Essential Functions:Develop and drive detailed work plans with key dates, deliverables, and action steps enabling timely review and updating of pitch and proposal contentDevelop a content audit schedule for pitch and proposal content across the Business Development & Marketing Department and ensure that content remains on scheduleWork with business development colleagues to build out market-leading content that helps to drive the firms business goalsHold meetings with product and industry groups, Proposal Center, and other business development colleagues to set out key deliverablesOutline content direction and arrive at messaging and win themesEnforce editorial standards by referencing global messaging guide and ensure consistent messagingWork with content owners to remove outdated content and identify where gaps in content existDevelop a process where content owners notify this position of new bespoke content that needs to be collected and added to the content libraryWork with content owners to create regionally-focused pieces of content as neededReview website text to see where content can be leveragedWork with other firm departments to update their relevant content including Diversity, Innovation, Pro Bono, Information Security, and other departmentsBe a key proponent of best practices in messaging, writing, style, and grammarMaintain content library in the proposal generation tool to revise and add new content and ensure content is properly categorized and taggedEnsure audit trail of updates is properly recordedProvide training on the content library in the proposal generation toolDevelop an understanding of content areas and serve as a resource for business development colleagues and proposal center team membersPerforms other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectivesQualifications:Education/Training/Certifications:Bachelors degree, preferably in Marketing, English or a communication fieldProfessional Experience:At least 4 years of work experience in marketing, writing and project/production management in the professional services arena (e.g., law, accounting, or consulting) or in a comparable position in the corporate, trade association or academic sectorsLaw firm and pitch/proposal experience a plusTechnical Skills:Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills; attention to detailStrong project management capabilities; ability to work effectively under deadlinesStrong MS Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is requiredExperience with proposal generation system and/or desktop publishing a plusPerformance Traits:Excellent interpersonal skills must have a mature, professional and personable presentation and demeanorStrong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyDemonstrates good judgment and problem-solving capabilities, a team-first and client-service orientation, and staminaHighly collaborativeAbility to work in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlines and ability to work well under pressureAbility to work well in a team as well as independentlyFlexibility to work additional hours as necessaryMust be a self-starter with a high level of initiativeStrong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailMaintains confidentiality and exercises discretionPhysical Requirements:May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbsThe above is a general description of the essential duties associated with this position and does not represent an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all duties.The Firm may modify and amend this job description at any time at its sole discretion.
