Position DescriptionPlan and develop communication for information about programs to maintain favorable public and stakeholder perceptions of the organization's accomplishments or agenda.

Major/Essential FunctionsThe Social Media Coordinator will coordinate and execute social media marketing across several outlets for the School of Medicine (SOM), School of Nursing (SON) and the Texas Tech Physicians (TTP) medical practice. Working in the Office of Communications & Marketing (C&M) and with school stakeholders, the position develops consistent and up-to-date content and handles day-to-day community management for both schools' social media accounts. It will create content, manage editorial calendars, schedule/publish posts and consult with colleagues across the organization to curate information.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about social media and is willing to bring creative ideas to the table with the work ethic and initiative to get things done in a fast-paced environment.

Embodies the Values Based Culture of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) by living out the university's core values of One Team, Kindhearted, Integrity, Visionary, Beyond Service.Follows Texas Tech University System (TTUS) and TTUHSC Operating, IT and Safety Policies, completing all training as required.Oversees and manages the social media presence for the SOM, SON, TTP, their clinics, departments and partners.Builds and executes social media strategy through competitive research, platform selection, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.Collaborates with faculty, staff, stakeholders and other C&M social editors to produce accurate, engaging content.Conducts/attends meetings to gain an understanding of social media needs.Creates/curates, plans, edits, schedules and publishes daily social media content (original text, images, videos, links, etc.) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.Contributes SOM, SON and TTP specific content to other university social media accounts and web platforms.Manages the social media advertising budget provided by the schools.Understands and perpetuates the social media guidelines set by the university.Monitors the social web for relevant mentions and happenings about both schools and clinics.Continuously improves, by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and then acting on the information.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field plus three years related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven years.
