The Mechanical Designer will provide computer aided design (CAD) drafting and prepare drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. This will be accomplished through use of computer aided drawing software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Responsibilities include:

Design components and assemblies such as machined components, sheet metal components, weldments, pipe routing, cable routing, 3D printed parts, injection molding parts, mechanical assemblies, electrical assemblies, etc.Transform initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software.Review engineer drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.Work closely with engineers and other professionals to create component and systems designs or processes and develop drawings for a wide variety of components and systems.Identify and implement opportunities to improve designs, reduce cost and lead time, and reduce risk.Requirements:

AS in Design or related field7+ years of relevant experienceSecret DoD Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret DoD ClearanceExperience with GD&TExperience with SolidWorksExperience designing custom machined components, large assemblies, and piping systems
