Mechanical Designer IISalary: $76k up to $90kAs a

Mechanical Designer II , you will play a crucial role in the design process, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our overhead cranes, hoists, and other heavy equipment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, interface with customers, and contribute to the successful execution of projects.Minimal 2-year technical school degree in Mechanical Design/EngineeringBachelor's degree in related field preferred but not required3-5 years of experience in mechanical design for heavy equipment or related industries preferredProficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)Strong knowledge of structural and mechanical design principlesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracyAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentStrong problem-solving skillsEmbrace and embody the mission, vision, and values of the company.Conduct self in a manner that upholds the standards of ACECO and GRIT MattersActively participate in continuous training and skill developmentProficient communication with all stakeholders, internal and external, in EnglishExhibit a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and integrity in all tasksOrder Review and Resolution:Review new orders from the sales department, comparing specifications to sales proposalsIdentify and resolve discrepancies with sales representativesConduct thorough checks for omissions or errors in the orderDesign Calculations and Component Selection:Perform basic structural and mechanical design calculationsSelect components from manufacturer's catalogs and generate purchase requisitionsDrawing Preparation and Approval:Prepare arrangement and layout drawings of equipmentVerify completeness and correctness of drawings before customer approvalInterface with customers, as directed by the Project Manager, to obtain approval and address design-related queriesDetail Drawing Oversight:Check detail drawings prepared by Mechanical Designer I for completeness and correctnessPrepare detail drawings when the Mechanical Designer I is not availableCollaboration and Problem-Solving:Collaborate with shop personnel to address questions and resolve issues during the manufacturing processWork with vendors of purchased items to answer questions and resolve problemsOn-Site Verification:Visit customer facilities when necessary to review projects and verify dimensionsDemonstrate the ability to climb onto equipment for inspection purposesVendor Communication:Interface with vendors of purchased items to address questions and resolve problemsOther Duties:Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisorsNOTE:
