NORAD Operations Group

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), we have provided:

Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.

Mitigation of orbital conflicts.

Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.

Operations and maintenance of classified communications.

Software development and integration.

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:

Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado

Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado

Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska

Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

Description of Duties:

The

Communications Security Responsible Officer (CRO)

supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:

Troubleshoot COMSEC equipment and processes.

Order/track COMSEC materials.

COMSEC Key Management planning and transport of materials.

Be the COMSEC gatekeeper ensuring Two-Person Integrity is adhered to.

Responsible for keying network/telecommunications equipment.

Analyze, investigate, and participate in the resolution of classified security issues. Coordinate actions(s) to be taken to ensure compliance with the classified security program.

Develop, implement, and coordinate Standard Operating Procedures.

Maintain physical security, access controls, and procedures.

Maintain storage of up to TOP SECRET COMSEC material.

Maintain a record of combinations and daily security checks.

Manage inventory and accounting requirements.

Conduct routine COMSEC destruction and creation of destruction reports.

Maintain records of COMSEC alternate personnel.

Conduct semi-annual inventory and report results to COR.

Ensure the account is in strict compliance with physical security, COMSEC record keeping, and proper handling and storage of classified keying material.

Performs additional duties related to Information Assurance as assigned/required.

Assist in troubleshooting, isolating, repairing, and correcting network systems and circuit errors, as needed.

Assist with long-haul transport circuit/network/system drawings/records, as needed.

***Shift work could be required to support 24×7 operations.

It is important to be available to work any shift/designated hours required including nights, weekends, and holidays on a modified Panama schedule, and can remain on-site for extended periods during emergencies and drills.

***This position reports to Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station.
