Apply below after reading through all the details and supporting information regarding this job opportunity.Boston Scientific seeks a highly motivated and experienced designer with expertise in new product development, tooling, and fixturing. The ideal candidate will leverage CAD software to create robust product, fixturing, and equipment designs, solving complex technical problems hands-on. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, leadership, and problem-solving skills to support medical device innovation across a diverse platform. Join one of Boston Scientific's fastest-growing divisions supporting process development to drive growth through efficient commercialization of new products and continuous improvement.Key responsibilities:Participate in the design team process and generate ideas for mechanical design.Utilize complex software tools (SolidWorks, Capture, and Windchill) to make technical designs that fulfill the mechanical specifications.Possess strong communication skills to facilitate the design process and reach project completion.Develop, test, and execute complex mechanical systems and designs that reveal their functions.Utilize a full knowledge of GD & T tolerancing.Work independently on projects, meet timelines, and document proof concepts with data to back it up.Create product concepts using the current tool, analysis techniques, and technologies through the use of parametric CAD software and other mechanisms.Perform Mechanical design/redesign of medical device products applying industry standards (e.g. ASME Y14.5M-2009) to detail drawings.Create/modify/maintain documentation using CAD tools that are tied to a data management system.Provide support for OEM device documentation and Bill of Material structure support.Reviews and verifies design work of peers to check for compliance with standards and corporate procedures.May review engineering order (EO) package by reading information on EOs (e.g. document description) and supplemental information (e.g., preliminary sketch) to identify missing information.May generate engineering change orders (ECOs).May provide illustrations, animation, and web publishing solutions that allow communication of 2D/3D product information for interactive assembly, maintenance/restoration of documentation, product presentations, and Federal and International compliance.Minimal qualifications:2-year technical degree or higher in mechanical drafting.4+ years of mechanical design experience.4+ years of experience using SolidWorks software.Solid understanding of GD&T.Preferred qualifications:Fixturing, molding, automation equipment, and die tooling background are a plus.Requisition ID:
