If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Academic Services, the Academic Design and Technology Manager is responsible for ensuring the College’s for-credit and non-credit curriculum is developed, documented, and delivered to meet the instructional effectiveness standards of the Wisconsin Technical College System and best serve students' educational pursuits. The Manager develops effective systems, processes, and resources for instructional curriculum design, delivery, and technology. The Manager leads the Academic Design and Technology team in supporting and collaborating with academic Schools and units, programs, and faculty to develop and execute effective teaching and learning content, pedagogy, and innovative delivery strategies to support the College’s vision, mission, and goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Academic Design and Delivery

Collaborate with college stakeholders to:

Research, recommend, develop, implement, and evaluate academic curriculum design, practices, and processes to support excellence and innovation in instruction.

Develop and implement innovative methods and models of curriculum delivery.

Support the development of curriculum that serves both for-credit and non-credit needs and creates pathways from non-credit opportunities to credit credentials.

Support the Learning Improvement Assessment System, including the assessment of student learning in programs, Technical Skills Attainment, and institutional outcomes.

Brainstorm new concepts, initiatives, programs, credentials, stay current on relevant industry trends, and foster academic innovation in academics.

Consult, advise, and partner with faculty, academic leaders, and other Academic Services team members to develop, modify, and review College curriculum to ensure relevance and currency.

Lead the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for academic design and technology for the college.

Lead college-wide stakeholder meetings on internal program modifications and development of new programs. Collaborate and partner with faculty, academic leaders, Registrar, and enrollment team in development and documentation of program changes and new programs.

Support the Vice President of Academic Affairs in communication strategies to show evolution and advancement of the overall academic portfolio for college leaders, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders.

Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and direction regarding accreditation standards, accessibility guidelines, and industry regulations related to curriculum quality for the College’s academic programs.

Ensure College curriculum meets the quality standards of the College and Wisconsin Technical College System and is maintained in the Worldwide Instructional Design System (WIDS).

Maintain currency in pedagogical design and practices, including Universal Design for Learning; course quality standards; synchronous and asynchronous learning; diversity, equity, and inclusion in academics; high-impact practices; and visible learning.

Academic Technology

Lead the College’s efforts to improve teaching and learning through the effective application of instructional technology, including, but not limited to simulation, virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and adaptive learning tools.

Maintain the Brightspace Learning Management System and collaborate with faculty development leaders to ensure faculty can use it effectively for course delivery in pursuit of student success.

Engage College personnel in developing multi-media learning content to support curriculum needs.

Collaborate with the Director of the Learning & Teaching Center and academic leaders and faculty to support the approach to and use of generative AI in the curriculum.

Research, evaluate, implement, and maintain new learning technologies to meet faculty and student needs and ensure academic portfolio excellence and relevance.

Maintain currency in emerging technologies relevant to learning and teaching, allowing the College the agility it needs to pivot as technology evolves.

Support technical accessibility requirements/accommodations for students.

Team Leadership & Administration

Hire, train, supervise, and assess Academic Design and Technology personnel.

Manage the day-to-day operational needs to support the Academic Design and Technology team. Lead the team staff and support the efforts of the AVP to provide continuity in leadership and align work towards agreed-upon strategic ends.

Develop and recommend annual budgets to effectively support assigned areas of administration.

Collaborate with other Academic Services team leaders to support faculty development, assessment, and instructional resources for a comprehensive academic services system.

Collaborate with other Academic Services team leaders to plan and develop new ideas, initiatives, and programs.

Participate in the Academic Services, Academic Affairs, and College leadership and management teams as needed.

Represent Nicolet College and engage with WTCS and other organizations as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of academic quality standards for the Wisconsin Technical College System, Higher Learning Commission, and program accreditors.

Advanced knowledge of instructional technologies with the ability to maintain and support them.

Knowledge of adult learning theories and principles of curriculum design.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional design, academic technology, or related discipline.

Minimum of two years' experience working in education in an academic support role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in instructional design, academic technology, or related discipline.

At least two years in a supervisory role, preferably in higher education.

At least two years’ experience working as an instructional designer or academic technology position.

Teaching experience, preferably in higher education.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, far, and field of vision.

This position requires regular and punctual employee presence.

Compensation:

The typical starting pay range for this position is $84,178-96,200 per year commensurate with qualifications and experience. Includes a comprehensive benefits package.
