All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description.The Associate Director will report to the Creative Director and work as a member of the Creative Services team to support the production of print, digital and web assets for all marketing needs including proposals, campaigns, presentations and stewardship reports. The Associate Director will provide project management oversight for the development of materials, through art direction and creative design, and play a key role in project management, materials development, and production to ensure a consistent brand experience for all audiences.Responsibilities:Responsible for printed, digital and video assets including collateral, web assets, internally sourced advertising creative, social media graphics, digital display ads, and videography.Work collaboratively with leadership and other members of the organization to ensure an integrated approach on all marketing, communications, video, web, digital and social activities that drive the organization’s overall goals per the strategic plan.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in an art-related field (or a minimum of six years in graphic design, multimedia/digital/video design and development). 2-4 years of experience with different types of multimedia (video/graphics/audio).Required Skills/Knowledge:Creative and technical skills to effectively design content across multiple creative platforms.Ability to provide quality assurance of all deliverables and maintain consistent brand identity across all media.Minimum 6 years experience working on content development for print, video, web and other multimedia solutions.Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, on time and within budget.Team-oriented and have a collaborative approach to creative development.Must have functional to advanced knowledge in the following programs:Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere/After Effects/Photoshop/Illustrator/Audition).Motion graphics.HTML5.Microsoft office applications.Functional Accountabilities:Create design concepts for all visual elements representing Children’s National Hospital includes customization based on audience, message, and project goals.Lead all aspects of creative development for assigned projects.Edit and create multimedia elements (graphics/video/audio), manipulate creative artwork.Understand target audience requirements and translate to enhance development of creative approaches and solutions.Create components for web.Manage artwork and direct freelance designers and photographers for special projects.Present creative concepts to internal and external clients as needed.Recommend ways to expand existing collateral and photo/video products to increase engagement/brand awareness.Conduct team brainstorming sessions, concept development and design discussion with Marcomm colleagues.Leadership:Work with creative staff to create high value, creative user experiences.Inspire creativity to improve content and how we present our narrative to audiences.Ability to manage project timelines and deliverables to improve efficiencies.Ability to supervise multiple vendors and budgets to meet target goals and costs.Organizational Commitment/Identification:Anticipate and respond to customer needs; follow up until needs are met.Teamwork/Communication:Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior.Partner with all team members to achieve goals.Receptive to others’ ideas and opinions.Performance Improvement/Problem-solving:Contribute to a positive work environment.Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to change.Identify opportunities to improve clinical and administrative processes.Make appropriate decisions, using sound judgment.Use resources efficiently.Search for less costly ways of doing things.Safety:Speak up when team members appear to exhibit unsafe behavior or performance.Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation.Stop in the face of uncertainty and take time to resolve the situation.Demonstrate accurate, clear and timely verbal and written communication.Actively promote safety for patients, families, visitors and co-workers.Attend carefully to important details - practicing Stop, Think, Act and Review in order to self-check behavior and performance.Primary Location:
