Program Analyst / Technical Editor

for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Mission Integration (DASD(MI)) under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Mission Capabilities (ASD(MC)) within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) in Alexandria, VA. The Office for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Mission Integration performs mission engineering, analyses, and studies to produce objective insights and analytic justification to inform future technology and capability investment decisions and to aid in the prioritization, alignment, and validation of joint warfighting requirements.

Scroll down to find an indepth overview of this job, and what is expected of candidates Make an application by clicking on the Apply button.Roles/Responsibilities:Review and edit executive-level technical briefings, documents, and reports for Senior Executive Service (SES) leadership within OUSD(R&E).Review and edit mission engineering studies and technical documentation.Review Government Accountability Office (GAO), Inspector General (IG), and Congressional Reports to prepare executive-level responses and recommendations related to engineering.Review and prepare executive-level communications for outreach and engagement with national and international organizations.Support strategic communications by developing, reviewing, and editing articles, briefings, newsletters, websites, reports, packages, and guides.Provide back up to the Program Analyst/Workflow Manager on tasking management (e.g. CATMS, Microsoft Planner, etc).Collect, organize, and tech edit the Monthly Status Report (MSR) technical inputs.Support the Mission Integration Front Office in general staff duties and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications Required:Bachelor's degree is required.Active Top Secret (TS) with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.Minimum of five (5) years of work experience.Experience developing briefings, documents, and reports for senior leaders.Experience reviewing, disseminating, controlling, and tracking tasking/actions.Experience reviewing staff packages for completeness, issues, and configuration control.

Qualifications Desired:Bachelor's degree in technical communications, journalism, English, public relations, marketing, or a related field is desired.Five (5) years of experience in technical writing/editing work products written by technical teams.Expert knowledge in developing graphically intense PowerPoint briefings to convey complex topics.Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt to specific organizational style conventions.Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently under minimum supervision in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Military or OSD Headquarters Element experience.
