Designer Designer II NASA Glenn Research Center Cleveland, Ohio HX5 is an award-winning provider of engineering, research and development, and technical services to clients such as NASA and the Department of Defense. HX5 is currently seeking a short-term Designer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center. The term for this position is October 2024 - January 2025. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The selected candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, designing antenna parts and assemblies, and producing 3D-printed components for research and development projects. The selected candidate will support the Advanced High Frequency Branch within the Communications and Intelligent Systems Division at NASA GRC. Required Skills: Experience creating technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks or CREO Experience developing parts and assemblies for experimental antenna fabrication Experience using 3D printers to produce prototypes and components Ability to collaborate with other engineers and researchers Ability to document designs Familiarity with industry standards for compliance Other Desired Skills: Experience with mechanical design and fabrication of antennas and quasi-optical components Familiarity with RF and microwave engineering principles Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Experience with light machining and use of hand tools Education/Experience: Associate's degree; or High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience. Other Position Requirements: Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
