Our client, a national non-profit organization changing the way kids learn about careers and prepare for the future, has an immediate opening on the People & Culture Team. The Internal Communications & Employee Engagement Specialist will report directly to the Chief People Officer and will develop and execute the internal communications strategy for the organization to ensure operational efficiency and support senior leadership. You will be responsible for creating and delivering compelling content that engages employees, strengthens the company’s culture, and keeps staff informed on business updates. You will work closely with key stakeholders including Senior and Executive Leaders to ensure all internal communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the company’s goals and values.?????????Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and execution of the internal communications strategy for the organization, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics.Lead the internal communications rhythm and approach by creating and maintaining core content; research, write, edit, and project-manage various communications initiatives. Develop engaging content for newsletters, websites, and social media.Partner with the PR and marketing teams to ensure that the organization’s graphic and style standards are followed in all material and internal and external messages are in sync.Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely and relevant; Assist in the creation and distribution of internal communications content, including P&C/DEIB updates from Chief People Officer and business updates from the CEO; manage intranet content to increase user adoption.Plan for a diverse and inclusive representation of stories, media and messages to drive home the organization’s DEIB commitments.Identify opportunities to promote employee engagement and help foster a positive company culture.Design content and oversee implementation for DEIB communications, cultural and wellness calendars, meetings, and other events.Partner with the Chief People Officer to craft communication in support of People & Culture (P&C) strategies, enterprise initiatives and employee communications.Work to measure the effectiveness of internal communications and to constantly improve their impact.Maintain the company’s internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s goals and values.Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis.Coordinate internal events—such as Town Halls and Lunch & Learns—and other initiatives to promote employee engagement and strengthen the company culture.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A passion for internal/employee communications as a critical culture-building tool to help boost engagement, inclusion, and belonging.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of management including senior leaders.Ability to synthesize multiple business priorities into coherent, relevant and impactful communications/presentations.Must be able to distill large amounts of information into easily digestible pieces for consumption.Excellent organizational ability.Must be detail-oriented, process-driven, able to prioritize own work, set and meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while applying strategic thinking and focus on organizational priorities.Ability to organize and assimilate information across multiple business units in a succinct manner.Business maturity, confidentiality, and experience working with senior executives, with the ability to anticipate issues and proactively recommend strategic solutions. Success influencing up, down and across an organization; influencing.Professional demeanor and comfort with diverse constituencies, with the ability and willingness to change voice and writing style to fit a particular audience and purpose.Keen ability to adapt messages for audience relevance.Experience with organization development, change management and organization transformation.Experience managing and maintaining internal communication tools (internal email software, intranet, etc.).3-5 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related field with excellent writing and editing skills, strong project management skills, knowledge of best practices for internal communications and experience with content creation and delivery, including email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations.

Candidates will be asked to submit 3-4 story samples (writing or video work) for review.Final candidates will be asked to complete a short writing test as part of their application.

Work Environment:

Hybrid workplace with 2 required in office workdays per week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.State-of-the-art space with complimentary employee amenities.
