As a Studio Engineer supporting the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms in the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C., you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on the Studio Engineer joining our team to ensure Congress’ upper body has the technical and production support it needs to communicate effectively with the American public.HOW THE STUDIO ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACTServing as the primary production and technical support resource for the Senate Recording Studio (SRS) and Executive Office.Ensure broadcast studio system uptime to enable time-sensitive, ad hoc press engagements and production requests.Provide Senate staff with Broadcast System and Production expertise.Provide cross-training to select GDIT staff to ensure backup resources are thoroughly familiar with the Studio Technical operations.Develop training programs for Senate staff that include basic troubleshooting diagnostics.Perform an initial baseline review and documentation of the technical environment.Develop preventative maintenance programs and backup/redundancy Standard Operating Procedures to ensure system availability.Research, evaluate, test, and make recommendations to the Sergeant at Arms on an ongoing basis. Once an acquisition has been made, the Studio Engineer shall be responsible for developing an implementation plan; installing, configuring, and testing equipment; training staff; and updating the documentation.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Education : A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.Experience : 15 years total experience, 5-8 years of relevant broadcast experience.Technical skills : Broadcast Studio Production engineering, network engineering, systems maintenance, integration, graphics, office automation support, hardware/software troubleshooting, interfacing with hardware/support vendors, and some web development.Security clearance level : All contract personnel must pass a United States Capitol Police background check.Skills and abilities : Experience delivering to ‘white glove’ service standards in a professional broadcast production environment.Must be able to lift 50 lbs.Candidate must be a US Citizen or US Person (i.e., Green Card Holder, US Permanent Resident) to be eligible to work on the contract.Location : Washington, DC.GDIT IS YOUR PLACE:Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at home.401K with company match.Comprehensive health and wellness packages.Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you build your skills and own your career.Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications.Cutting-edge technology you can learn from.Rest and recharge with paid vacation and 10 company-paid holidays.
