The role

SoFi is looking for a data-driven, strategic thinker to join our Marketing Business Operations team. At SoFi, Marketing Business Operations is a nimble and highly impactful team that is responsible for the organizational effectiveness of the marketing function, and for scoping and delivering high leverage, strategic projects on behalf of the CMO and marketing leadership.

The Senior Associate - Strategy Lead is a big-picture thinker with the financial skills, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity that helps create and deliver on these key strategic priorities. The Senior Associate will work cross-functionally to develop a perspective on investment opportunities, build the business cases to support them, and act as the marketing lead in launching these new initiatives. In support of the analytics and decision-making, they will also build out and improve ongoing business intelligence and reporting routines.

The role reports to the Director of Marketing Business Operations. As a member of the Business Operations team, the Senior Associate works with many other teams within SoFi. As such, the ideal candidate will be a dynamic thinker who can collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex challenges with uncertain inputs and outputs.

What you'll do

Identify and structure ambiguous strategic problems, define clear hypotheses, and build business cases that influence our approach, leveraging industry research, competitive insights, and internal dataCollaborate with marketing leadership and cross-functional teams such as Marketing Data Science and Finance to produce quantitative models in support of strategy, operations, and planning decisionsPartner with the broader marketing organization, including Brand Strategy, Creative Studio, Sports Marketing, PMM, Channel Teams, to test, launch, and iterate on new value propositions and go-to-market strategiesBuild out and improve upon existing ongoing business intelligence and reporting routines, including real-time dashboarding and recurring slide presentationsWrite clear and compelling leadership and Board-level documents, slide presentations, and emails to communicate out our recommendations, summarize plans and priorities, and celebrate results and winsEstablish an industry landscape and competitive insights routine for the marketing leadership teamSupport specific, OKR-driving commercial priorities, pinch hitting within the marketing organization as neededPerform ad-hoc activities as requested by the Director of Marketing Business Operations, the marketing leadership team, and the CMO

What you'll need:

A passion for SoFi's mission of helping people Get Their Money Right to achieve their financial ambitionsA Bachelor's degree2-4 years of work experience in a top-tier consulting firm, investment bank or high growth technology businessStrong analytical skills in building financial models and business cases; experience manipulating data in SQL and SAS is a nice to haveExcellent written and verbal communication skills; experience building executive-level presentations preferredAbility to build strong cross-functional relationships and work collaborativelyInquisitive nature and a proactive self-starter, especially when operating under ambiguous environmentsHands-on operational capabilities with advanced proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office Apps, etc.Interest in and familiarity with financial services, consumer technology, and marketingExcellent time and project management skills
