Full-timeDescription: An established Los Angeles-based Communications and Public Relations firm seeks a dynamic Account Director to work on home, interior design, and architecture clients. Rated one of the Top Best PR Firms in America by Forbes (2021) and The Observer (2024), and part of The PR Net’s Inaugural The PR Net 100 List, Hello PR specializes in communications strategies for the design and lifestyle industries.The Account Director plays a pivotal role in leading and managing client accounts within the design and architecture industries. Reporting directly to the firm partners, the candidate must have a self-starter attitude, strong attention to detail, and experience managing a team. Experience, interest, and passion in design and architecture are a must.Roles and Responsibilities The Account Director reports directly to the firm’s principals and supports media relations efforts on behalf of our clients. As part of the senior management team, this position includes managing a dedicated support team, while developing and implementing account strategy. The Account Director also supports senior management in new business development (meeting potential clients and developing proposals). Responsibilities include:Client Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for designated client accounts.Develop and maintain strong client relationships built on trust, transparency, and results.Understand clients' business objectives and develop strategic PR plans to achieve them.Provide strategic counsel to clients on PR and communication strategies.
Team Leadership and Management
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.Delegate tasks effectively and ensure that team members understand their responsibilities and objectives.Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.Communicate goals, troubleshoot challenges, and support staff training while maintaining momentum for client accounts.
Campaign Development and Execution
Develop comprehensive PR campaigns and initiatives tailored to the unique needs and goals of each client.Oversee the execution of PR plans, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and within budget.Monitor campaign performance and provide regular updates to clients, making adjustments as needed to optimize results.When applicable, support social media and branding initiatives for clients including influencer relations and campaigns ensuring alignment with PR strategy.Develop partnerships for clients and seek opportunities for participation in show houses, conferences, panel opportunities, etc.
Media Relations
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts in the design and architecture industries.Identify opportunities for media coverage and secure placements in relevant publications, websites, and broadcast outlets.Draft press releases, pitches, and other communication materials, ensuring accuracy and adherence to brand messaging.Attend industry events and own media relationships with top-level editorial contacts. Meet with contacts to discuss client news.
Strategic Planning and Business Development
Contribute to the development of the agency's overall strategic direction and growth initiatives.Identify new business opportunities and participate in the pitching process to secure new clients.Constantly stay up to date with industry news by frequently reading magazines and newspapers, listening to podcasts, etc. Share relevant industry news and insights with the team.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.6-8 years of experience working in PR, preferably at an agency or in-house within the interior design or architecture industry.Proven track record of successfully managing client accounts and leading PR campaigns from conception to execution.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and empower team members.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.Strategic thinker with the ability to develop creative PR solutions that drive business results.Well-developed media relations skills and an existing network of contacts within the interior design and architecture media landscape.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PR software tools (Cision, Muckrack, etc.).Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and adapt to changing priorities.This is an in-person position and the applicant must be based in Los Angeles or New York.Salary and Benefits $95,000 - $115,000 per year with potential for performance-based bonus.Medical insurance.Generous PTO and sick days in addition to holidays.Summer Fridays.Flexible working environment, including working from home on Fridays.Retirement savings program.To Apply Submit your resume and cover letter to hello@helloprgroup.com
