We have a passionate office culture centered around our company’s value proposition to make cities great places for everyone.DescriptionThe Studio director is a senior leadership position providing knowledge and direction to all of our project managers. This position will be responsible for implementing our quality assurance processes and for developing designers and junior project managers. This position operates with a level of autonomy that requires discipline, integrity, excellent communication, and above all, a commitment to Able City’s shared value proposition.ResponsibilitiesProvides support and direction to less experienced project managers.Assign work to professional staff and ensures appropriate training is provided.Evaluates operations and activities of assigned responsibilities.Usually is tasked with the management of a limited number of projects.Prepares reports on operations and activities, recommending improvements and modifications.Participates in budget preparation and administration, monitors and controls expenditures.SkillsMust be innovative, detail-oriented.Capable of managing multiple, high-priority assignments.Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various levels and to resolve complaints.Ability to provide effective supervision and staff management.Ability to provide effective resource management in an environment with multiple projects with differing staffing needs and timelines.KnowledgeThorough knowledge of local government policies and procedures.Expertise in building codes.Thorough understanding of architectural production best practices.Passionate about affecting change at the local level; committed to empowering citizens — especially those who have been historically marginalized by the planning process — to steer and shape their city’s future.Ability to work with a diverse team.Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture.Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines.Confident facilitating in-person and virtual public participation activities.RequirementsProfessionally accredited Bachelors and/or Master’s in Architecture.Licensed Architect.Ability to travel from time to time.US citizen or US resident with permission to work in the US.
