ResponsibilitiesThe Sportsbook Lead Bookie is responsible during which a supervisor is not present, all activities in which the Sportsbook department is involved and ensures the integrity of the gameTakes charge during assigned shift and is available to give advice and direction to the departmentEnsure that Sports writer's practice excellent guest service and have adequate knowledge in order to converse with and educate guests about sport betting, and promotional eventsGreets and interacts with guests in a friendly, professional, and attentive mannerVerifies all big wins and jackpots in accordance with current Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming regulationsCommunicates any guest complaints, problems or compliments to appropriate management as neededEffectively communicate sports betting options, including odds, betting lines, parleys, pleasers, teasers, and promotional eventsEnsures that employees maintain accuracy of sales and payoutsMaintains high security of gaming equipment to include; Gaming software and equipment, and all associated paperworkMaintains working knowledge of each writer station machine and main station computersResponsible for planning and participating in special events, promotions and tournamentsWorks with Accounting on daily audit functionAssigns work stations to staff and expedites workflowEnsures all work stations are stocked, neat, clean and organizedTrains Writers on department policies, procedures, regulations and guest serviceResponsible for communicating changes, policies, procedures and all others to staffActively participates in ongoing staff trainingActs as Writer or Runner when needed - assists with other departments when neededProvides oral and written direction to staff members as neededFollows all department and casino policies, procedures, and regulations as requiredEnsures compliance with Tribal, State, Federal, and NIGC regulationsEnsures control/protection of company assets as applicableWork nights, weekends and holidays as requiredPerforms other duties as assigned

QualificationsExceptional guest service skills requiredTwo to four years related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferredPrevious supervisory/lead experience requiredPrior knowledge of Sportsbook writing, equipment and software is strongly preferredAbility to work in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment requiredBasic knowledge of computers in a Windows environment is requiredPrior cash handling experience requiredAbility to effectively communicate information in a one-on-one situation and small group situationsBasic math skills which include the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsSkill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditionsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Certificates, Licenses, RegulationsMust be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/III gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires repetitive movement with the ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
