To help provide customers with the best Prime Video experience, we are looking for a Programming Manager to help develop and manage our content programming strategy and operations. We are looking for candidates with strong project management and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and earn trust with cross-functional teams, and a strong bias for action and passion to do what is right for the customer.

The role requires experience in using customer insights, market research, and other data to build a holistic plan to fulfill our customer’s entertainment needs year-round. Working with Amazon Studios, Content Acquisition, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Finance, PR, and global teams, this role will help define and optimize our release calendar to ensure we regularly delight customers with new and engaging content. Using audience insights data, the Programming Manager will influence partner teams to identify the most appealing content for our customers, evaluate and propose the optimal scheduling, and ensure partner teams are on track for successful launches. The Programming Manager will also contribute to evaluating performance potential, establishing targets and allocating budget to market our key contents. Key job responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of Japanese customer content needs to help drive the continued growth of Prime VideoCreate and maintain an annual programming calendar with optimal content mix, volume, and distributionMid/long-term slate planning based on the Programming Strategy and content potential/risk assessment through collaboration with Studios, content and global teamsLeverage data to ensure marketing resources and budget are properly allocatedCollaborate with marketing teams to coordinate ideal execution of marketing activitiesOverall stakeholder management to keep relevant teams and owners aligned on deadlines and requirements to meet launch timelinesEvaluate the effectiveness of our programming activities and seek constant improvementProactively monitor market trends and increase the level of knowledge within the local industry to reflect in programming activitiesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements- Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data- Proven analytical and quantitative skills with a passion and aptitude for analysis- Demonstrated ability to generate ideas and independently solve problems with a logical, data-driven approach- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Economics or similar- Bilingual in spoken and written Japanese and EnglishPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working in Creative, TV, Film or Entertainment industries- Excellent business judgment and an ability to think strategically and help build execution plans- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across business teams to deliver business results, experience in project management across multiple teams in an organization.- Ability to prioritize and multi-task across multiple workstreams.- Strong bias for action and sense of urgency; the ability to make things happen quickly.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
