Los Angeles, (onsite)OverviewOur client is looking for a skilled CAD Designer to become a part of their design and production team. This position is crucial for turning creative ideas into real products, supporting the full product development cycle up to mass production. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in product development, manufacturing processes, tooling, and document creation, primarily working with a 3D CAD system.Primary Responsibilities3D and 2D Design: Create detailed 3D models, documents, and 2D drawings based on inputs from various teams, including product engineering, process development, CAM, manufacturing, and quality assurance.Tooling and Product Design: Design final products, tooling, fixtures, and complete technical documentation to support manufacturing and quality control.Manufacturing Process Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.Material Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of material properties, including metals, plastics, wood, tool steel, aluminum, and 3D-printed materials, in designing parts and assemblies.Complex Assembly Design: Design moving parts and complex assemblies, considering material and process tolerances.Prototyping and CNC: Experience with rapid prototyping and CNC manufacturing processes is a plus.Information Management: Manage and organize digital information and interface with data management systems.Quality Inspection: Inspect physical parts against 3D models, generate deviation reports, and collaborate to resolve issues and improve processes.Required Qualifications4 years of experience in CAD Design, 3D modeling, and 2D design.Ability to work in an in-house manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes, QC.Familiarity in CNC machining and programming with understanding of toolpath creation and machine operations.Experience/familiarity of what it takes working in smaller machine-shop settings, emphasizing precision and working under thin margins.Relevant industry experience in aerospace, medical devices, and/or similar fields.BenefitsMatching 401(k) contributionsDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceCompensationStarting salary of $75,000 per yearPlease note that detailed information about the client will be provided to candidates who are shortlisted.
