JOB SUMMARYDirect continuous communications, coordination, and facilitation of Flextrans bus operation, Lift Route Sector, and related support services to ensure ADA compliance, system safety, and reliability

including timely and efficient control of service provided to disabled customers. Make rapid, timely decisions that impact budget regarding most cost-effective use of current resources. Collect and distribute system-related data to all appropriate support departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING•

High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years post-high school training or college education with emphasis on communications and/or business management, or related fields.•

Must have a valid Utah driver's license and be a safe driver with no more than 4 moving violations in the past three 3 years. Cannot have more than 1 violation of driving under the influence of alcohol, any drug, or the combined influence of any alcohol or any drug within the last 10 years.

EXPERIENCE:Internal candidates : Three years of acceptable UTA work history, demonstrated knowledge of UTA systems, and knowledge of Operations Department policies and procedures.External candidates:

Three years successful dispatching experience.

KNOWLEDGE:•

Excellent verbal communication skills.•

Demonstrable speaking qualities over a two-way radio (i.e. clarity, intonation, conciseness, articulation).•

Interpersonal sensitivity, diplomacy, and tact, particularly under stressful conditions.•

Demonstrated problem solving and emotional control in a crisis situation using diplomacy and tact.•

Intermediate level skill in MS Word and Outlook & able to type at least 30 WPM. -

Preferred•

Skills in systems dispatching using computer-assisted, repeater-activated, two-way radio. -
