Fashion Designer / Developer (On-Site in San Marcos CA)Job Description:Alp-n-Rock is a fast-growing premium Sport-Fashion life-style apparel brand. This is a hybrid position and you must live within 30 miles of San Marcos, CA.This position designs and develops products from concept to bulk production, in collaboration with the Creative Director and Design Team, while documenting all processes on the WIP reports and ensuring on time, on budget and on spec delivery.Design:Design and develop new and innovative products for each season working closely with the Creative Director and Designers to promote brand vision while meeting margin targetsAssist in the creation of design boards for each season showing colors, silhouette, fabric, print and trimsProvide support in both creative and practical technical aspects of design processDevelop and maintain all tech packs- including sketches, graphics and detailed line art to communicate design concepts and construction details to factory.Organize, lead, take notes and attend fit meetings with Technical DesignerUpdate tech packs to resolve any design/quality issues that arise during development, communicate changes to the factories for proper executionArchive artwork (intellectual property) electronically for future retrieval from electronic graphic libraryResearch and test new and innovative fabrics and components with a focus on sustainabilityFollow and identify trends in the relevant categories. Attend select trade shows and inspo shopping to gain a good understanding of product and market trendsPrepare and present Line Plans and Mini-Boards to sales and marketing teams.Product Development:Develop, QC and track product from concept, strike off, prototypes, SMS, ROS, PPS to bulk productionCorrespond daily with international and domestic factories on any design changes or status of productTroubleshoot possible production issues related to construction, fabrication or garment quality with a solutions-oriented mindset.Create and maintain all WIP reports for designated category.File and track all sample and fabric developmentSeek new ways to make design processes more efficient and share ideas with design teamSkills:Adobe Illustrator & PhotoshopTech pack creationManaging WIP reportsQuality SketchingKnowledge of General BOMsExcellent communication skillsAttention to detailAbility to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
