The Manager of Web, Marketing, and Social Media will effectively, efficiently, and accurately promote UAlbany's graduate programs and graduate-related events on our web through marketing materials (e.g., brochures, email campaigns) and social media. This position will play a leading role in developing and implementing marketing strategies, creating engaging content, and ensuring consistent messaging across various channels.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan, execute, and assess the Graduate School's web, print and social media communications, brochures, emails, and other pieces while maintaining brand consistency of the Graduate School and the University.

Produce and schedule engaging, relevant, professional content and graphics for the Graduate School's social media sites, blog, and webpages for targeted and relevant audiences

Design and execute paid digital and social media ads and campaigns, to elevate the reach and reputation of the Graduate School

Provide support and assistance to academic departments regarding web, marketing and social media as it pertains to graduate student recruitment goals

Maintain and enhance the Graduate School's engaging and positive online presence, and continuously monitor and respond to messages/posts in a professional and timely manner

Utilize SLATE Technolutions CRM application service and event management tool to develop, manage, edit and improve upon communication and marketing campaigns as well as to assess the effectiveness of these campaigns

Collect data to analyze the effectiveness of any marketing and social media campaigns. Use data to implement improvements for future campaigns.

Attend on-campus and regional events and presentations

Maintain and update an accurate marketing budget

Collect, create, write and edit content for social media, blogs, newsletters and other marketing pieces.

Capture photographs, videos and other visuals for marketing materials and social media.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships:

This position will report to the Director of Graduate Recruitment and Marketing. The coordinator will work closely with all staff in the Graduate School as well as all Schools and Colleges at UAlbany for the purpose of creating marketing materials. This position will also work closely with the Office of Communication and Marketing.

Job Requirements:

Current Social Media Platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube) and any emerging platforms.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, higher education or related field

Minimum of two years' experience directly related and progressively responsible work experience in marketing and communications management.

Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube), including how to best utilize each one to reach our audience and an ability to learn new social media platforms as they emerge.

Experience with new media (website design, DRUPAL, ADOBE Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, Internet, database operation, presentation/publishing software)

Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, including the ability to adapt tone and style of writing to varying audiences (are you going to ask for writing samples as part of the application process?)

Excellent editing skills to ensure accuracy in all written material and graphics (are you going to ask for previous social media campaigns or a portfolio of sorts?)

Must be able to use data from social media sites and other marketing efforts to make informed decisions

Must demonstrate the ability to create and update print documents

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced education and training (master's degree or advanced certifications) related to communications, marketing, and/or digital media

Strong understanding of Facebook's business and ads manager platforms, experience in X, LinkedIn, and other social platforms' ads managers

Experience working in higher education marketing or communications

Knowledge of University at Albany Brand

Proficiency with SLATE (technolutions)
