.RequirementsPrimary Job ResponsibilitiesThis position requires the candidate to be highly knowledgeable in industrial piping systems and their design and construction.Provide technical design leadership .Exercise a level of independent judgment with little to no direction from management.Conceptual design and final engineering·The ability to resolve technical design conflicts.Manage the piping design effort for multiple projects.Develop engineering drawings and documents with little to no direction from management.Generate technical solutions to problems of unusual complexity.Perform design calculationsUse computer-aided design equipment.Develop proposals (gathers information, makes studies, performs calculations, etc.).Participate in project meetings and act as piping team leadWorking in, and sometimes leading, teams on large multi-discipline projectsThrive in a fast-paced, schedule-driven atmosphereMake and meet commitmentsPerform field work and observe construction (climbing stairs and ladders, extensive walking)Monitor budgets and schedulesMentor junior personnelLight travel – mostly within the Kentucky/Tennessee/Illinois/Missouri regionGenerate material take-offs and construction estimatingQualifications7-10 years of experience required.A 4-year BSME degree with an ABET-accredited university is preferred.Possess or be on track to obtain a Kentucky Professional Engineer license within 6 months is a plus.Excellent people and communication skills (oral and written)Team player and ability to work on multiple projectsKnowledge of Computer Aided Design software (i.e. AutoCAD, Plant 3D, etc.).Extensive knowledge of piping design standards and codes (ASME B31.1 & 31.3)Strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).Ability to work well with other engineers/designers.Ability to work on job sites gathering information.
