The Director of Internal Communications is responsible for developing and executing dynamic communication strategies to effectively align, engage and inspire employees across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Head of Internal Communications to develop and execute SVB's internal communication strategy to support the company's business objectives
  • Develops and executes comprehensive internal communication strategies to support the company's vision, values and culture objectives
  • Collaborates closely with and serves as advisor to business leaders to:
    • Develop and implement internal communication plans to promote enterprise-wide initiatives and executive priorities via a variety of channels, including crafting key messages, producing live engagement events, presentations, videos and other communication materials
    • Evolve corporate storytelling and align communications to company's culture and priorities
    • Deliver crisp and clear communications with creative, strong narratives
    • Maintain consistency in messaging across all internal channels
  • Collects timely data to support business initiatives through focus groups, surveys, town halls, one-on-one interviews, and other methodology; evaluates and applies the data to evolve communication and engagement strategies.
  • Establishes and tracks metrics that help correlate internal communications programs to employee engagement.

Qualifications

15 years of corporate communications experience, including experience with organizational communication planning, execution, and measurement OR High School diploma or GED with 19 years of corporate communications experience, including experience with organizational communication planning, execution, and measurement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or other related fieldsExperience in Financial Services..
  • Demonstrated business acumen and skills in translating business strategies to comprehensive internal communication strategies
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and editing skills with a proven talent for storytelling
  • Demonstrated experience producing employee events (town halls, all-hands, etc...) designed to align, inspire and engage employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand multiple, diverse stakeholders, anticipate impact of company actions on company culture, and translate complex issues into clear, simple and consistent messages and themes.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a broad range of internal partners in a global organization
  • Proven ability to significantly influence stakeholders using a thoughtful communication plan to align people or groups
  • Strong interpersonal/written communication skills aligned to the company's tone and messaging.
  • Demonstrated track record of creative programs executed to meet business objectives
  • Experience working with and advising executives


For New York, the base pay for this position is generally between $159,250 - $276,033 per year. For Boston, the base pay for this position is generally between $ 152,563- $ 264,442 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
