JOB SUMMARY:

The Market Development Liaison helps to develop and implement strategy and network development across the health system. Includes hospital and physician network development, joint ventures, outreach initiatives and clinical enterprise business development. Builds relationships with new and existing providers across all specialties and primary care inside and outside of Marinhealth and develops tactics to increase market footprint. Develops multiple methods and services to strengthen relationships and meet the needs of physicians in the marketplace.

Under the management of the VP of Marketing and Communications, the Market Development Liaison will develop and implement growth strategies for strategic initiatives at Marin Health. The Market Development Liaison will work closely with MarinHealth providers, strategy, physician development, and marketing directors and VPs on initiatives that build relationships between physicians in the community, collect and escalate service issues to various MarinHealth departments, including but not limited to imaging, lab, scheduling, and ultimately drive referrals from new and existing customers. Daily activity could include evaluating data for identification of strategic growth, developing and following through on action plans, resolving issues, tracking volume and reporting results, facilitating physician-to-physician introductions, establishing personal relationships with MarinHealth and other physician practice administrators/managers, and planning and staffing outreach events.

The Market Development Liaison may also act as a liaison between strategic service lines and MarinHealth marketing as appropriate, with the goal of connecting growth goals to strategic marketing initiatives. Travel will be required throughout the North Bay and at times beyond. The Market Development Liaison must represent MarinHealth to its market in a responsible, mature, and responsive manner.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in related field required

Master's degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years' experience in marketing or ad agency setting required

Healthcare experience preferred

PREREQUISITE SKILLS

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro as competence with calendaring/email systems such as Outlook.

LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

Valid California Drivers License required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL (not modifiable)

In collaboration with marketing leadership, strategy and physician development, and service line leadership, identify target physicians for new business that support strategic growth initiatives.

Develop sales plans for strategic initiatives. Evaluate available market utilization data, referral patterns, and market trends to ensure plans are data-driven, leads are qualified, and sales resources are optimized.

Achieve assigned touch point quotas for specific initiatives. Report on activity with available metrics based on assigned accounts as required.

Coordinate and attend outreach meetings between key staff, physician groups or other strategic targets to grow new business.

Conduct ongoing meetings with business development and physician leaders to ensure outreach strategy is aligned.

Collaborate with strategic marketing teams on growth goals, participate in marketing and outreach meetings, develop and deliver collateral and presentations as required.

Report changing trends and market intelligence that impact decision making by marketing leadership, strategic development, and physician leadership.

Maintain customer relationship management system (CRM) to track all physician engagements, external contacts, relevant relationship information and reported concerns.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of MarinHealth, the broader Marin medical community, and the North Bay health care marketplace, and market factors for specific service line initiatives.

Participate actively in department and team meetings to determine strategy, support other team members, and build the service.

Act in compliance with all UC policies and procedures; with specific attention to reimbursement policies and requirements

Advanced knowledge of health care industry trends and referral patterns.

Advanced quantitative and analytical skills to perform complex market and financial analysis.

Advanced interpersonal communication, relationship building and political acumen skills.

Ability to develop professional relationships in all aspects of the position, resulting in stable, consistent, reliable, and courteous communication when dealing with other internal and external stakeholders.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and technical skills to learn specialized applications and tools in the field, including Salesforce.

This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
