Job Summary

Department-Specific ResponsibilitiesAssists IU Research operations to create and implement components, assets, and deliverables related to IU Research communications strategy using enterprise, open source, and vended tools including branding elements, content creation, website, newsletter, creation/sends, forms, multimedia/audio/video.Manages and maintains IU Research websites and other digital assets and tools.Works with IU enterprise tools including Cascade Server WCMS, Salesforce, Canvas, Expand, SiteImprove, Kaltura, My Compliance, Qualtrics, MachForms, and Confluence to create and maintain digital assets.Proactively manages website for dated information and perform needed maintenance and version updates.Utilizes IU standards and best practices to maintain consistent and positive public relations; Complies with IU branding and accessibility standards.Collaborates with IU Research units to unify messaging.General Responsibilities

Translates design concepts into code to develop fully-responsive websites and web applications; focuses on front-end, user-facing web developmentConsults with website stakeholders and/or web administrator to review existing websites/webpages; develops new functionality and/or codes front-end web changesCreates web tools and functionality that enhance how users see and use websites, taking into consideration multi-browser and mobile compatibility and performanceTests websites and web applications, performs quality control/assurance checks, continuous integration and fixes bugs accordinglyDocuments web application and/or web site changes and debugs undesirable and/or unexpected website behaviorActs as a liaison between design/creative teams and back-end development to ensure optimum functionality, performance, accessibility, scalability, security of websites.Ensures that all protocols used in the development and maintenance of websites are up to date and compliant with university policies and standards; researches and stays up-to-date on new industry web standards, emerging media technology, UX/UI design/philosophy, and accessibility standards.Qualifications

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
