Rec Room's Studio product allows Creators to build whatever they imagine using a custom version of Unity editor. The Studio Team is responsible for both Experience (Room) and Avatar creation, including designing, building, publishing, and selling their creations with approachable tools that empower infinite possibilities.

You will define the User Experience (UX) vision and strategy while creating world-class designs that come to life as you work with teams to spec, roadmap, ship, and iterate to success. You'll improve processes across product teams and help grow the design discipline.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

Create world-class user experiences that delight a diverse, global audience of CreatorsLeverage design thinking to craft strategy and approach that maximize the impact of your designsWork cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to determine feature roadmaps and contribute to the overall vision for Rec Room StudioWork with designers across the company to share and improve upon best practices and processREQUIREMENTS:

7+ years of product design experienceProven leadership, organizational, and execution skillsExperience working with 3D modeling tools (i.e. blender, Maya)Experience working with game engines such as Unity or Unreal engineExperience defining design vision and strategy for consumer products or gamesExperience going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into design requirements, driving prioritization and pre/post-launch executionExperience developing UX frameworks that create reusable solutions applicable across multiple features rather than one-off implementations.Experience designing for various input devices while preserving their native feel and interaction models.Experience working in a technical environment with a cross-functional team (i.e. art, development, data, etc) to drive design vision and help define product requirementsBachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in HCI, Interaction Design, Ergonomics, or equivalent work experienceBONUS SKILLS:

Expert knowledge of UGC platforms and communitiesWorking knowledge of game development toolsDesign systems and component buildingVisual craft, 3D experience and iconographyThe base pay range for this position is listed below; please note the base pay may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Stock options and, in some cases, a sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. We also offer a full slate of benefits, including flexible vacation, medical, dental vision, life and disability coverage, long-term care insurance, FSA, commuter benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, and a parental leave program. We also offer some not-so-standard benefits, including equipment, family, and pet care stipends.

Base Pay Range $137,000—$185,000 USD
