Assistant Designer, Women’s Sweaters – Based in LA, USA

Prepare for Design fittings by specing all proto samplesUpdate design hand-sketches throughout season as changes occurAttend weekly Work-In-Progress (WIPs) meetings – accountable for maintaining records of all design changesGenerate tech packs and update them with fit comments and BOM updatesMaintain updated bill of materials (BOMs)Generate, send out, and track knit down requestsSet up initial seasonal linesheets for each collection and maintain as changes occur throughout developmentPrepare seasonal color – once color pallets have been finalized, create smaller pallet boards to share with cross-functional teamsCreate seasonal swatch cards for sketch boardsAssist with internal look book shoots by supporting the Chief Creative Officer in creating the material detailing all looksMaintain seasonal swatch library and inspiration closetPerform additional duties and assignment as requestedSkills and Experience Required

Must have a 4-year College degree in Fashion Apparel Design, preferable focus on sweatersMust have minimum entry-level industry experience in Apparel Design work experience (internships included)Must have excellent working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and ExcelMust have excellent hand-sketching skillsMust be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter. This position requires one to establish effective work relationships across multiple levels and functions.Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiativeStrong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely mannerExcellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communicationAbility to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and changePositive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
